Good early morning Weather Watchers. Another HOT day before Thunderstorms develop this afternoon  and continue through the weekend into early next week.

This map shows today’s set-up with the Yellow hatched area representing Severe storm potential and the Red hatched area indicating Flash Flood potential.
If you have outdoor plans this weekend you will likely want alternative plans as the weekend will be rainy. Heavy rains are likely tonight through the weekend especially in Central and South Central KS where 2″- 6″ of rain is likely with locally higher amounts possible.

Current radar shows a line of scattered storms moving East through Central KS:

Here are the rainfall projections through Sunday morning:

Overnight storms in Nebraska produced widespread 1-4″ rain totals.

The greens are 1″ , yellows 2″, orange and reds 3″ and 4″ respectively.

New data is coming in now- glancing at  rain totals we are still seeing the trend continuing for heavy rainfall totals.

Look for Flood Watches being issued later today.
