Hello Weather Watchers!

The system that moved through last weekend was a tad stronger than we forecast. We hit the amount of Liquid Precip we missed the Snow amounts in West Central KS by a few inches, we heard several reports of 8-10″ and had forecast 3″-6″.

The KC Metro received 8″-12″ that caused significant travel issues as well as thousands of power outages as the snow was very WET & HEAVY. They are still struggling with power outages today. Crews from across the Region have been brought in to help restore power.

We should have a brief warm up through Wednesday before we have a weak system that moves through Central areas could see a wintry mix Wed afternoon/evening… we will keep you posted.

Our attention then turns to Friday and Saturday as a STRONG system will take shape….

BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE AS THIS SYSTEM DEVELOPS AND MOVES EAST.

Very cold air moves in for the weekend. Windchills of -15 to -25 are LIKELY.

We will provide additional details as we continue to monitor this system as it takes shape.

THIS IS A STORM TO BE WATCHED, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TRAVELING THIS WEEKEND!

We will update you after we have new data….

Stay tuned….
