Hello Weather Watchers.

The Wild Fire is ZERO percent contained.

The wind is cure gusting out of the North and will change directions overnight back to the South giving the Fire additional fuel and Spreading the Smoke and Ash into Central Kansas.

This is a Satellite image showing then thousands of acres that have been burned:

 Here are some current images:

The Burrton/Harvey County fire appears to be under control with the exception of several hot spots that will keep fire fighters on scene for another 12-24 hours especially with another CRITICAL FIRE DANGER day tomorrow, which is the highest risk.

Another piece of energy will move through the Central and Southern Plains . There are significant differences in the NAM compared to the GFS and European on how much moisture to expect. Just plan on chances of light moisture Friday night through Easter morning- could see some SNOW mixing in Saturday night through Sunday morning.

We warm up Mon-Wed as strong Southerly winds pump moisture North with chances of Thunderstorms on Wed into Thursday. This could be our first chance of Spring Severe Weather – we will keep an eye on this system.

This Map shows potential for Severe storms along a dry line next Wednesday evening- several days away. You can see on the image below there is nice flow from the Gulf Northwest to the Central Plains…
