Good morning Weather Watchers!

The storm or area of Low pressure is going through cyclogenisus and will continue to strengthen. I’m sure you are feeling the pressure changes if your body is sensitive to barometric changes. You will likely feel rough until tomorrow morning.

Here is the current chart showing the development- notice there are duel Lows which will combine into a singular Low

Current:

Forecast position of Low by 2pm

Let’s fill in the features to show you where things are forecast to be around 2pm.

Here is the Regional forecast map showing the Cold side of the Low – the Low tracks Northeast just to the South of the Winter Storm Warning.

As we said yesterday this would likely be a HIGH RISK Severe Weather day if we had gulf moisture in place – dewpoints in the 60s.

Take a look at the surface map – the dewpoints are the green numbers- AND another neat feature… I circled the Cold cores of both of these Lows in Blue- It just shows you where the cold air is located in association with areas of Low pressure. These are two very compact Lows ( the black arrows represent the air flow around the lows at the surface) you can see by the temperature on the West side of both Lows being in the 30s how strong they really are. Look at temperatures around these Lows they area in the 50s and 60s – kind of an interesting phenomenon to show you, will maybe help you understand Low pressure a little better. Questions- just ask:

I hope this makes sense – it is kinda neat that we could show you both of the Cold Cores.

Questions- please ask.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND WE ARE STILL IN A CRITICAL FIRE RISK TODAY – DO NOT THROW CIGARETTES OUT YOUR WINDOW!!

Lastly- as the Low matures and we see it wrap up like a comma. The comma head or back side ( cold portion) could bring some light snow to parts of the State-
