Hello Weather Watchers!

We are in the calm period before the Storms, so to speak…

Based on our Long Range forecast technique and change of seasons we are anticipating severe weather to begin in earnest by the mid to later half of April and continue through the end of June.

We are anticipating a few significant set ups here in the Central Plains…Kansans have been very fortunate over the last 2-3 years with below average Severe activity, again, that will change, PLEASE PREPARE.

We are not expecting any significant severe weather this week, we could see a few stronger storms in areas of Central/South Central areas.

We are anticipating this rainfall as a couple pieces of energy move out of Colorado into SW Kansas. This set up will provide for chances of showers and a few Thunderstorms Wed afternoon – Fri before a Strong Cold front moves through just in time for the weekend leaving much colder temps in its wake. Expect highs in the 40s Statewide Saturday and lows in the 20s Saturday night.

HERE IS THE SET UP:

The LOW begins to pull moisture North from the Gulf… Thunderstorms will develop to the East of the Low with this set-up and along the slowly advancing cold front.

TEMPS:

WINDS BEGIN TO INCREASE ON WED…

THURSDAY THEY REALLY GET GOING OUT AHEAD OF THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE GUSTING TO 45mph BY THURS AFTERNOON WITH STORMS BY MID AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING

THE COLD FRONT BEGINS IS MOVES BY FRIDAY -SOME THUNDER COULD DEVELOP ALONG THAT FRONT….BETTER CHANCES ARE THURSDAY…

We get so cold on the back side of this system – RAIN/SNOW MIX is possible…

Enjoy temps in the 70s to around 80 Wed/Thurs with STRONG WINDS!

Again- we are NOT expecting significant severe weather but always have your guard up…

FIRE DANGER WILL INCREASE as we haven’t started to green up. BURNING IS DISCOURAGED WED-FRI because of the strong winds.

Have a GREAT DAY!!
