Good morning Weather Watchers!!

As we told you yesterday the location of the Cold Fronts location was going to be Critical for your weather.

Here are current conditions:

Look at the Temp differences …36 in Hutch and 35 miles away in Wichita it’s 63…with a dewpoint of 60! Very impressive for February!!

Send a jacket with to school with your kids!!

Moisture is still streaming Northward over Eastern KS and wrapping around the Surface Low that is forming in NE KS.

Behind the Cold front we are seeing Freezing Drizzle around that Hwy 36 Corridor from Concordia to possibly Maryville.

A Winter Weather advisory is in effect for the far Northeast part of the State for areas of Freezing precip.

THIS WILL LIKELY ALLOW FOR A LIGHT WINTRY MIX OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE STATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NOON. EXPECT SOME SLICK ROADWAYS….

An ICING EVENT IS EXPECTED OVER FAR NORTHEAST KS – THE AREA CIRCLED IN PURPLE.

How much further SE will this Cold front make it?

Current:

Noon: The Cold front shunts moisture further East.

Thunder:

Thunderstorms confined to far SE Kansas and further South….
