Hi Weather Watchers!!

Here is the Regional Threat Map – we have added text for what to expect through Friday night…

The post frontal precip signal has decreased significantly so as we thought this will be a COLD system with some snow but NO MEANINGFUL precipitation.

Winter Precip:

We continue to forecast that the drought will continue to get worse before it gets better. This pattern WILL NOT change until September – November.

Many want to talk about “spring rains” – yes, there will be some storms but we aren’t seeing what would be considered any drought busters….THAT IS WHAT THE PATTERN IS THIS YEAR….

We have been asked about Summer, we see an up and down Summer temperature wise – some very hot days with some breaks. We also see what will likely be an active Tropical season…

Northwest flow during the summer is conducive to MCS activity, or overnight thunderstorms. We think that will occur when the Gulf opens for business later this Spring but we still think the track of these systems will be to our North and East- let’s see how the Summer seasonal variable plays into the current pattern. Again, we think the continued lack of moisture will continue in the Central Plains.

We wish we had better news.

We will keep you posted-
