Good morning Weather Watchers!

Another STRONG system is shaping up for us here in the Central Plains early next week as a closed, almost cut-off low ( cut-off from the main flow ) develops  to our West and moves slowly across the Central US.

Here are the 500mb views as the Storm approaches

A cold pocket will form on the North and West side of the Low as the storm system deepens, or strengthens, the main cold air remains far North into Canada.

*KEEP IN MIND THE EXACT TRACK WILL LIKELY CHANGE SOME FROM THIS MAP- so stay tuned…

As we get further into Winter with this pattern and POSSIBLY have more cold air to work with will this years pattern support more Wintery precip than all the early forecast were calling for?? Could be…

Another positive sign we are continuing to see for average to above average precipitation (and we mentioned this several weeks ago)is where these storms systems are developing- they are developing to our West and then intensifying right on top of us here in the Central Plains.

Last year these troughs developed on top of us and those East and Northeast of us reaped the benefits as they intensified there.

More later…

Have a good weekend – IT WILL BE WINDY all weekend as this system approaches.
