A VERY STRONG Storm system will begin to develop overnight tonight.

It will affect the Eastern 1/3 of KANSAS with Snow and even THUNDERSNOW, as KANSAS is on the COLD side of the system. Missouri will likely see FLOODING RAINS and much of the Mid South from Eastern Texas to Mississippi with a SEVERE weather outbreak as they are on the Warm side of the system with temps in the 70s and dewpoints surging into the mid 60s!

Portions of South Central KS will see 2-6″ of Snow…Northeast areas of KS could see 4″-8″….

ONE THING TO WATCH IS…if we get a SIGNIFICANT T-STORM complex – snow totals could be less than currently forecast.

If you are traveling into Eastern TX, Arkansas and Louisiana please be weather aware. This area and points EAST could see SIGNIFICANT Severe Weather Friday into Saturday….

Expect initial precipitation to develop from West to East…Precipitation will initially be Snow in NW KS Friday AM.

Expect light to Moderate Freezing Precip to develop by early afternoon Friday across areas either side of the I-135 corridor.

As the upper levels cool precipitation should become ALL Snow by overnight Friday night into Saturday morning.

THE HEAVIEST AREAS OF SNOW SHOULD BE ALONG AND SE of the KANSAS TURNPIKE…..

Remember….a slight wobble of 30 miles can change of forecast.

Look for a late night update or early morning update.

If you are headed to the Chiefs game… expect 4″-8″ on the ground by late Saturday afternoon…from Topeka to just East of the Metro.

STAY TUNED….
