Good morning Weather Watchers-

We have several threats we need to cover today…

Today could be a rough day for many due to Flash Flooding and Severe Weather especially over South Central/Central Kansas… the greatest threat area for for the most intense SEVERE Weather appears to along and South of a Great Bend to McPherson- ALL other areas ARE NOT out of the woods!

Flash Flood threat:

Severe Thunderstorm threat:

This is where the front currently is-

Our thinking is that the front will move NNW throughout the day and set up SW to NE across the State.

The key to our entire forecast is where that front stalls…

If our forecast verifies- some areas of South Central KS could see historic flooding from torrential rainfall from storms that move SW to NE over the same area. That is called “training” – just like a train following a train track.

In this case the Storms are the Train and where that front sets up is the track… one train after another is possible with incredible rainfall totals.

Flash Flood Watches/Warnings:

WE CANNOT FORGET ABOUT THE SEVERE THREAT AS WELL….

Please contine to check back for updates-

We have assigned someone to provide updates throughout this setup – which will last into the overnight.

We wish we could tell you this is it but it is not…

Additional Flash Flooding is LIKELY through Tuesday of next week.

Severe Weather is possible daily TODAY through TUESDAY:
