Hello Weather Watchers-

Here are the CURRENT CONDITIONS:

Will we see a few Thunderstorm try and develop along or ahead of the Dryline this afternoon??

The chance is SLIGHT…

Showers should increase ahead of the “cool” front later tonight for areas East of I-135….not much moisture unfortunately.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

A very dangerous set-up is unfolding across the Central Plains as a STRONG area of Low pressure begins to develops across NW KS later today.

As it strengthens it begins to slow its Northeast trek.

We are currently experiencing the Southerly flow on the Warm side of the developing Low.

Monday and Tuesday, as the system makes it to our Northeast, which puts the Western 3/4 of Kansas on the cool side of the system.

EXTREMELY STRONG NNW winds, gusting to 60mph, will likely occur over areas of WEST, NORTHWEST, WEST CENTRAL & CENTRAL KS. This will cause blowing dust as well as an EXTREME FIRE RISK.

A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THOSE AREAS IN TAN FROM 6AM-6PM Monday.

THIS WILL CAUSE THE POTENTIAL FOR A CATASTROPHIC FIRE RISK ACROSS MOST OF KANSAS MON-TUES.

Please keep us posted on ANY FIRES in your area…

IF A FIRE DEVELOPS IT WILL RACE SSE because of the STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES.

PLEASE STAY WEATHER AWARE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS!!

If you have any questions on this set-up, please ask!
