Good late evening Weather Watchers!!

It is very warm and humid tonight- here are our current conditions:

Looking at the 500mb level, (18,000′) we can see the Jet stream is moving West to East across the country along the I-80 corridor- in a “zonal flow”.

The High is building in, in an oblong shape from the desert SW to the Central Plains. This will provide highs for most of the Sunflower State in the mid 90s to low 100s – add the dewpoints and the Heat Indicies are in the 105-110 range…Heat Advisory has been issued for much of Northeast KS!

The models try and build a strong Ridge to our West that puts us in a Northwest flow – as we know – a Northwest flow pattern in the summer is usually wetter and cooler.

This is June 30th- this will likely change as our lonterm forecast does change the pattern but not until after the July 4th Holiday. We could be off a couple of days- let’s watch it.

Highs in the 70s on the 30th??

Again this will likely change, we wouldn’t be so interested in it but we are expecting a pattern change close to this time frame….Will this be it??? Something we will watch…

Take care and STAY COOL the next several days….

Keep us posted on how things are going in your area….
