On to Weather!

Models continue to show a SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL EVENT over the Central Plains.

The Climate Prediction Center has issues Excessive Rainfall Advisories which lets us know they are watching this systems closely.

REMEMBER, what we look for up until the event begins is models consistency. We have seen that. As the Storm system develops we could see a shift where the heaviest axis of rainfall will be. In August, the axis was a few miles WEST than originally predicted.

What we are trying to say is do not get FIXATED on the exact location that has been forecast to get the most rainfall – just know that anywhere close to that area could be the target. This is a widespread are so assume you will get Heavy rainfall from tonight into mid next week as this system set up over the Central Plains.

Here is this mornings model- it has increased rainfall totals even more.

This was issued at 3AM this morning- will be updated at 3PM.

The other models show significant totals, above 6″ in the same areas.

GFS:

Our message is, I YOU LIVE IN A FLOOD PRONE AREA BE AWARE THAT THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING RAINS OVER THE NEXT 7 DAYS IN THE AREAS OUTLINED ABOVE.
