Good morning Weather Watchers!! The drought numbers were released today… GREAT NEWS for the Plains States, Exceptional Drought continues in the Western US.

Here is The SHORT TERM forecast through the first week of June- Above normal precipitation is expected in many areas- this is the timeframe we are expecting significant rainfall.

Long term precipitation forecast….

Just because we are forecast to see Above average precipitation this summer, don’t think it will not get HOT, it will!!

Based on the forecasting technique we use the first Heat Wave should occur late June into first week of July… July 4th could be HOT AS A FIRECRACKER! We then get a break- including cooler weather and Thunderstorms- followed by another Heat Wave late July into August. These heat waves will be stifling heat for 10-14 days- could they build in longer?  We will see….

Questions, please let us know.

Have a great day.

We will update you later today with a look at the Holiday weekend.
