Good afternoon Weather Watchers!

There are chances for SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS late afternoon through around 10-11.

Will we see a MCS develop overnight?? Big Question….

Here is what we can tell you:

SCATTERED Severe Storms from 4-10pm:

Here is the current Satellite image:

Current Conditions..ITS EXTREMELY HUMID with Dewpoints in the upper 60s to low 70s!! That creates Strong instability.

This time of year we are lacking triggers. They are outflow boundaries ( which act as cool fronts ) they could be little Vorticity Max that move through the mid-levels ( counterclockwise pieces of energy ) and areas of Low pressure.

The atmosphere is very unstable with not much wind in the mid/upper levels to move them along so anything that forms will sit and put LOTS OF RAINFALL down in a short period of time before it falls apart and cause STRONG OUTFLOW WINDS- up to 60-70mph for 5 miles or so from where it collapses.

Central KS experienced a Storm complex form the night of July 3rd with some SIGNIFICANT FLOODING OCCURRING:

FLOOD WARNINGS ( Neon green) CONTINUE ALONG WITH FLOOD WATCHES:

Kansas HIGHWAY 4 outside of Gypsum is impassable with the road COMPROMISED!! 6′ of water in places is causing this….

TURN AROUND OR DROWN!!!

If we get more storms over the next few days/nights this will aggravate flooding in that area!!

Please let us know if you are affected…

Please share your info to help our Rural friends & neighbors….

We will keep you posted…
