Good evening Weather Watchers. The threat for Severe Weather has greatly diminished with the frontal boundary almost to the State Line in South Central KS.

There has been multiple reports of hail larger than baseball size across Eastern Kansas with the storms this afternoon and early evening. We haven’t seen significant hail like that for a few years.

Looking ahead, depending on where the massive area of High pressure sets up, that will determine our next chances of Thunderstorms as well as who will see significant heat. We are definitely entering the dog days of summer….we had heat indices today of around 115 degrees across South Central & Southeast Kansas.

We will get in to what “the ring of fire” means in tomorrows post.
