The latest Storm Prediction Center Outlook for Friday shows the potential for Significant Severe Weather

We will have a very Strong area of Low pressure developing in the OK/TX panhandle with a Warm front extending Northeast and a dryline developing South of the Low during Friday. To enhance the threat, a jet streak in the mid-levels of the atmosphere enhances wind shear as well as a 40-50kt low level jet that is forecast to kick in after 7pm. These factors help to enhance a potential Tornado threat In the “Enhanced” area.

There is some thinking that the low could track further South which would move the threat area – let’s watch and see how it develops.

In the meantime consider that Friday could be a Significant Severe Weather day.
