Hello Weather Watchers!

As we mentioned in yesterday’s blog we wanted to show you what the upper level winds look like.

Once you see the set-up and that it’s not going to move very much over 5 -6 days you will understand why 6″-10″ of rainfall is possible over the Eastern 2/3 of KS….

The maps you are looking at show the 500mb level which is around 18,500′.

The colors represent the strength of the winds. If you look at the bottom of each map you can see the color coded wind Key – they are measured in Knots.

The models are staying consistent so we want to start raising the potential for possibility of flooding.

We haven’t had to talk about flooding for several years- however if you live in a flood prone area- please know the potential exists.

Here is the Climate QPF models over the next week:

The FIRST OF MANY RAINFALL EVENTS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS SHOULD BEGIN WEDNESDAY EVENING as a STRONG Cold front moves through. The threat for Isolated Severe Weather exists…

The more significant Rains should occur Fri evening through next Wed. Friday we will see and feel another passage of a STRONG cold front. It will not rain constantly during that time but we are anticipating NUMEROUS ROUNDS OF SHOWERS & STORMS.

Questions, please ask…
