Hello Weather Watchers!

As part of Severe Weather awareness week, we will have the annual Statewide drill at 6:30 this evening.

Here are some some interesting statistics from 2015 compiled by the NWS Hastings, NE. That office is responsible for parts of North Central Kansas.
Here are the areas of responsibility for each NWS office. The areas are called County Warning Areas or CWA’s.

TODAYS WEATHER IN KANSAS WILL FEATURE EXTREME FIRE DANGER AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS AFTER A COLD FRONT MOVED THROUGH OVERNIGHT.

Winds will gust over 40-45mph. ANY KIND OF OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Another cool front comes through Thursday that will bring temperatures down closer to normal for this time of year with chances of a freeze for SOME AREAS Friday and Saturday nights. Not seeing much if any moisture with this system.

Expect windy conditions through Saturday….
