Hello Weather Watchers!

Thanks to all the Weather Watchers who submitted images from the Severe Weather around the cool front last night- we appreciate it.

As with all Severe Weather- you want to know when it is happening- not after it happens.

In order to take advantage of our IMMEDIATE REAL TIME UPDATES sign up for on our website and they will be immediately emailed to you.

We posted this image when it was occurring 13 miles NW of Salina and when it was dropping VERY LARGE HAIL- we immediately sent the info to the NWS.

This image was over the community – it was rotating according to those close to it  As usual, even with a rotating Wall Cloud approaching a good sized city, NO Tornado Warning was issued by the Wichita Forecast Office.

Question: would you want a Tornado Warning to be issued when a funnel cloud or rotating wall cloud is approaching your community?

It is gonna get HOT!!

Monday- Wednesday we will be under the influence of a Strong area of High Pressure;

As the week continues the High breaks down as a storm approaches the California coast creating a Lee Low. The upper energy lags back spitting out pieces of energy daily Wednesday night through Sunday. Strong to occasional Severe storms are possible during that time frame. Some models keep a stationary front in the area through next Wed giving many Kansans chances of rain for 7 days- we will definitely keep an eye on this system and how models continue to handle it.

Our confidence is currently Moderate for Storms Wed-Sun…if you have weekend plans you will want to monitor future forecasts.
These images show the developing SW flow and the storm system developing.

These are at the 500mb level.

Have a GREAT day everyone.
