Hello Weather Watchers!

The Heat builds in for a day or two, especially Saturday before we get relief from a cold front Sunday into Monday.

Here is what we are seeing in the 500mb charts ( which is where we like to view the atmosphere ) or 18000-19000 above the surface.

This is what it looks like Saturday- you can see the area of High pressure sitting right on top of Texas where they have had temps and heat indicies of 100-109 the last few days. The green on this map is not moisture, it is winds in the 500mb level.

The High moves North and West by mid week next week putting Kansas in an interesting position. It puts us in almost a Northwest flow pattern- the scenario could be that the High picks up monsoonal moisture an gives us a few chances of overnight moisture-
We are right on the edge of the “ring of fire”. That is what you call the outside edges of a Summer High pressure system.

We should cool off after the frontal passage into the upper 80s.

This should last through mid week next week.

Have a GREAT DAY Weather Watchers!
