Good evening Weather Watchers!

Models still still showing Thunderstorm development Sat PM in Western sections of KS.

The image above shows a MARGINAL RISK of SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. While the image below shows the available energy- This is one part of the puzzle piece we look at to determine what to expect. Tomorrow’s threat looks like a LARGE HAIL threat.

The above images shows the same information we looked at for Saturday. A Marginal Severe threat with a better chance for more widespread rainfall Sunday is what we are thinking.

It won’t be a washout weekend – storm initiation should take place Saturday as a piece of energy moves through the mid-level of the atmosphere.

Sunday storms should fire mid afternoon as an even more potent piece of energy moves in from the SW.

Next chances for moisture after this weekends looks to be mid to late week.

Longer term I think May could be VERY interesting as Richer Gulf moisture makes it ever further North.

Have questions- please ask.

We will be in Western KS tomorrow- likely around Dodge close to noon or 1–Come say Hi and hit us up for some Weather Watcher swag. Not expecting anything real crazy tomorrow- we just want to try out some new equipment.

Weather Watchers!!
