Good morning Weather Watchers

The front we have discussed all week is finally making its move… it’s will move slowly until it reaches the I-135 corridor around 10pm then it will move quickly out of the area- so rain totals will be much higher in Northern and Western areas.

Let’s first look at where the front is this morning:

Here is the SEVERE Potential from the SPC:

The individual threats:

Hail-

WIND:

Tornado threat because an upper level piece if energy is moving out into the Western KS – this threat will allow for the initial development of Supercell storms and Clusters prior to the development of an MCS- Mesoscale Convective Systems –

Let’s look at timing:

3PM

7pm

10PM

1AM: notice the main complex of Storms ( MCS ) that’s in SW Kansas wants to move South and not East.

This is a theme- we have seen it before with this years pattern -if that happens it will reduce rainfall amounts in South Central Kansas where EXTREME DROUGHT still exists-

Notice the Red color in South Central KS…

We will keep you posted-

EXPECT WATCHES BY MID AFTERNOON….
