Good Wednesday morning Weather Watchers!

Another winter system develops this afternoon and moves through this evening into Thursday.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of KS.

HERE IS THE UPDATED MAP- RICE, RENO and HARVEY added to the Advisory…

  

  
We could start out with a brief period of freezing drizzle followed by 12 -16 hours of light snow.

The models have been consistent with North Central KS forecast to see the most accumulation, around 2-4″. Areas outside of the Advisory could see a Trace to 1″ with chances of freezing drizzle.

**This storm blows up into a MAJOR WINTER STORM for the Mid Atlantic States into parts of the Northeast.

Washington DC could see a RECORD SETTING BLIZZARD this weekend with up to 24″ of snow possible!

  

LONGTERM: Still tracking a strong storm system for the end of the month. This will be the beginning of an Active couple of months of Weather. 

We see a heavy rain potential, Severe Weather as well as Snow and Ice possible in areas around the Central/Southern  Plains.
