Good morning Weather Watchers.

FREEZING DRIZZLE TO CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS…

We have had reports of FREEZING DRIZZLE Northwest of Inman and FREEZING RAIN around McPherson- ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED ON I-135 in the McPherson area.

Thank for the report Weather Watcher Jeff Smith from Inman.

Here are current temps and the position of the LOW… If you are aching, this is why!

See how the surface winds move counterclockwise around that Low.

The freezing drizzle/rain should move East/Southeast with areas of Light snow moving in- ONLY a Trace to 1/2″ will be possible for Central KS-a couple of inches are possible from Manhattan to Emporia and Northeast into the KC Metro area.

Another storm system will affect Central Kansas Wednesday night into Thursday. This storm should produce 1-4″ of Snow beginning Wed around 6pm. With the heaviest snow right in the Central 1/3 of the State.

Here are a couple accumulation maps.

Longterm-

We will be watching what could be a significant storm somewhere in the Plain around Feb 1- we have been predicting this since December.

Could it be Severe Storms-Winter Storm or both…. February and March look very active. Stay tuned!
