Very Cold air next week….Snow potential for Halloween??
Hello Weather Watchers!
The NEW pattern is currently setting up. The next 6 weeks will give up a good idea of what we can expect over the next 300 days.
It has been very dry compared to how the pattern started out last year. By this time last year we had close to 6″ of Rain and an 1.5″ of Snow.
Initially it looked like the El Niño/La Niño indices would be neutral. In the last 3 weeks the waters of the Pacific have warmed dramatically. 1-1.5 degrees. Models show these water temperatures heading back into the neutral phase, it is something we must watch.
Today has been an interesting day.
A weak piece of energy is moving out of the Southern Plains on the back side of the surface Low we saw snow. Amarillo into Western OK
Below are the 10:16pm Regional Conditions.
Here is a look ahead…
Halloween night…. 1 week from tonight.
Expect MUCH Colder temps early next week into the middle of next week. All areas will likely see a HARD FREEZE. Temps on Wednesday might not get out of the 30s…let’s see how it plays out.
Here is what the EUROPEAN Model is advertising for Halloween night.
The GFS is dry and warmer….
Let’s see what happens as the NEW PATTERN develops right before our eyes.
Have a great day Weather Watchers!!
