Good morning Weather Watchers!

Today will be another day in the Central Plains to keep your Weather Radios on and your eyes to the sky?

Here is the set-up so you understand it:

A Low form along the CO/KS border and strengthens throughout the day. Ahead of the Low in the Warm sector expect hot and humid conditions with strong South winds.

A warm front has formed from the Low and is oriented West to East. ThebWarm front separates cooler air on the North side of the front to very warm and humid air along and South of the front. Supercell Thunderstorms  LOVE Warm fronts! Look for development around 2-4 PM. The strongest most powerful storms will literally trek right on that boundary.

The Dryline extends South from the Low – it separates Hot dry air on the backside or West of the Dryline from moist humid air just East of the Dryline.

The areas in between these 2 boundaries is called the Warm sector.

We expect to have storms fire on the boundaries by mid-afternoon.

The trigger for the storms today is powerful piece of energy headed NE out of New Mexico. This will enhance storm development.

Very large hail will be possible with these storms today as the wind shear will be very strong.

There are left over boundaries from storms last night- those act as mini-cold fronts and aid in storm development.

Like the last few days – any storms that develops today will become Severe vet quickly and it will likely spin. There will likely be a number of Supercell storms initially before they begin to cluster mud to late evening.

There will likely be Watches today so STAY TUNED?

THE GREATEST THREAT FOR TORNADOES IS ALONG AND EITHER SIDE OF I-70 where the Warm front will be located.
