Hello Weather Watchers!

We had some server issues…they are handled!

Let’s take a look at the Weather

The forecast is somewhat up in the air ( pun intended) –

A piece of energy across the plains of Eastern CO will cause the development afternoon storms. These storms will have to potential for Very Large Hail across Western KS

Here is the actual SLIGHT RISK area for Severe Storms into FRIDAY night:

THERE IS A CHANCE THAT CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS COULD BE UPGRADED TO AN ENHANCED RISK…. THIS IS A “CONDITIONAL” THREAT BASED ON THE ANTICIPATED STRENGTHENING OF THE LOW LEVEL JET THAT DEVELOPS AFTER 7-8PM….

If this threat develops we will UPDATE OF FORECAST – the potential for a SEVERE MCS moving across the area with 70mph Winds and Torrential Rains with embedded scattered Large Hail WOULD BE POSSIBLE…

More Severe Storms are possible Saturday night…Again Storms should develop our West and track East…

SATURDAYS THUNDERSTORM OUTLOOK:

Saturdays forecast will see not as strong daytime winds as today’s ( Southerly gusts to 30mph Friday afternoon )

Winds on Saturday will be fairly light/variable around 10mph as a weak boundary snakes across most of the State. The low level jet will once again help with Saturday nights storm development.

WIDELY SCATTERED Storms are possible on and off Sunday as there will be no CAP in place with plenty of CAPE ( instability ) and pieces of energy moving across the area.

SUNDAYS THUNDERSTORM OUTLOOK:

On and off Chances of Storms are possible through Wednesday/Thursday time frame…

THIS FORECAST WILL LIKELY CHANGE AS THE FINER DETAILS BECOME MORE APPARENT- We are in a SUMMER PATTERN with LIMITED UPPER LEVEL WIND FLOW aka “SHEAR”

If you have specific questions- PLEASE ASK!!

WE WILL UPDATE YOU IF THE SPC UPGRADES OUR THREAT TO ENHANCED….. STAY TUNED!
