Hello Weather Watchers!

It looks as though WEST CENTRAL, SOUTHWEST & parts of SOUTH CENTRAL Kansas could see 1″-2″ of Snow.

Let’s look at why…

Here are our current conditions:

Moisture is being drawn Northwest from and with the very cold air plunging South it will serve to wring out that moisture producing and area of Snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the SW part of the State.

Based on the latest HiRes data we are seeing that Advisory may need to be extended to the East a few counties- so stay tuned- with Temperatures falling below freezing by late after and precipitation beginning late afternoon elevated surfaces could become SLICK & HAZARDOUS….

Precipitation should end in Southern KS by early Sat morning.

RECORD COLD IS EXPECTED OVER MANY AREAS OF KANSAS AS WE ARE EXPECTING LOWS IN THE TEENS!

Lets look at timing:

Precipitation should begin as light rain in the Southwest – around 2-3pm, changing to a mix around 4-5 before becoming all snow as the upper levels drop below freezing.

Precip totals for the Western 1/2 of the State- maybe up to .25″

Have a great day!
